PlayCard Prepaid Card Betting Sites

Betting Sites That Accept PlayCard

PlayCard is an inconspicuous payment method. But by my estimates, it is one of the most convenient money transfer methods you’ve (probably) never heard of. It is a reloadable prepaid card service you can use at most licensed betting sites in the US.

Thanks to the wide accessibility of Mastercard debit cards, PlayCard can be used in most legal US sportsbooks. DraftKings and Caesars Sportsbook are just two of multiple examples. Even if you’ve never used PlayCard, it doesn’t take much getting used to. It works similarly to other prepaid card options, such as NetSpend and PlayPlus. You add (load) money to your card, transfer it to your account with an online merchant (sportsbook) site, and start playing.

I will discuss the deposit steps in more detail later in this guide. You can also read about PlayCard fees and see a list of the top US sportsbooks that support this option.

How PlayCard Online Betting Works in the US

To use PlayCard on DraftKing, Caesars, or another sportsbook, you need to place an order for a Mastercard debit PlayCard card, unless you already own a Mastercard debit. You must also create a personal identification (PIN) number to confirm your card ownership when depositing (and withdrawing) at a given sportsbook.

To accommodate the growing audience, US betting sites integrate a wide variety of payment services. Prepaid cards like PlayPlus are common among licensed operators.

The emergence of integrative payment solution services, like PlayCard and Netspend, expands the payment alternatives for the ordinary bettor. It also ushers in a new, simplified, yet secure and private channel for handling transactions to online betting accounts using popular debit card brands like Visa and Mastercard.

Thanks to Mastercard’s availability, you can use PlayCard to handle your monetary transfers at virtually all licensed US sportsbooks. If you want a betting operator that will meet your needs long-term, you might as well pick from the best in the industry. My colleagues and I unanimously agreed that the following five brands are staples of the US digital betting market.

Top PlayCard betting sites in the US:

🥇DraftKings Sportsbook

DraftKings has been a trusted provider of sports betting services for over a decade. Founded in 2012, this leading betting brand offers thousands of daily odds for over 30 sports. Its apps offer a great mobile experience, and the desktop interface is likewise smooth and well-organized. You can earn in-house VIP benefits or claim one of its ongoing promos. Profit boosts, bonus bets, referral bonuses, and reward-giving Mission challenges are a few of its top offers.

DraftKings supports Visa and Mastercard debit cards for betting deposits. This latter option makes the site compatible with PlayCard. The base minimum deposit is $5, while $1 is the minimum withdrawal. One noteworthy benefit is that Mastercard debit and, effectively, PlayCard can be used across all DraftKings products. While $5 is the base deposit, the minimum deposit via PlayCard is $10.

🥈FanDuel Sportsbook

Daily fantasy betting, horse racing betting and traditional sports betting – FanDuel has it all. It covers all major sports and tournaments. From NBA and NFL odds to NHL, international hockey, MLS, rugby, major European soccer and basketball leagues and everything in between. The user experience is near-perfect. The support team is friendly and responsive on chat and email alike.

Odds boosts, bonus bets, profit boosts, referral bonuses, and daily challenges are a few of the ongoing promotions. You can also find live odds and use the Parlay Hub to create combo tickets. FanDuel supports credit and debit card payments, including Mastercard debit, which you can link to your PlayCard account. The process is simple, but you can contact a support agent if you experience any issues. Unlike some sportsbooks, FanDuel allows you to refund/cancel a deposit with PlayCard or another method.

FanDuel’s rules mandate that the first time you withdraw funds, you must do it with the same method you deposited. For subsequent withdrawals, you can change to another payment method if you do not wish to withdraw using your PlayCard Mastercard debit.

🥉BetMGM Sportsbook

BetMGM brings a wealth of betting markets and promotions to your mobile or desktop device. The range of betting options, bonuses, and features is identical on desktop and on mobile. Although the range of sports is relatively narrow, BetMGM covers all top-tier leagues in the US, alongside some college sports.

Profit boosts, boosted bets, and a referral bonus are a few of the promos available. However, the welcome bonus is not available in some states (NY, NV, NC).

Deposits start at $10, even with PlayCard, while the minimum cash-out is $20. You can transfer or take out funds with PlayCard through Mastercard debit; however, make sure you check with your bank to ensure it supports Mastercard debit. Some banks and financial institutions will not accept debit card transfers for betting purposes.

🎖️Caesars Sportsbook

Caesars Entertainment has a long-standing reputation in the US gaming community. The digital Caesars Sportsbook platform offers everything a minimum deposit bettor needs. You can earn daily rewards through the Caesars Rewards, claim a welcome sports bonus, and find competitive odds in all US sports leagues: NBA, NFL, NHL, MLS, and MLB. Live odds are also available daily.

Caesars supports multiple debit card payment methods, including Mastercard, allowing you to fund and cash out if you own a PlayCard. The rules are straightforward. Open the Caesars cashier, select Mastercard (debit), and use your PlayCard identification number to approve a transaction. Again, some financial institutions may not support debit card transfers to online gambling merchants.

🏅Borgata Sportsbook

Borgata’s absence of a welcome sports bonus in some states and an overall lack of sports bonuses are temporary snags. Borgata frequently updates its bonus program with new offers. The betting book is all-inclusive. From the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB to major European, Asian, S. American, and African sports leagues, it covers a wide range of sports. You can explore hundreds of daily odds, make combined bets, or find unique prop bets for specific sports.

If your bank supports Mastercard debit gambling transactions, you can immediately transfer funds from your PlayCard debit to your Borgata account balance. The cordial customer support agents are ready to help with any banking issue. The minimum withdrawal of $50 is an unwelcome surprise.

The Mastercard SecureCode and 128-bit encryption ensure your PlayCard transfers (and withdrawals) are completely safe. Note that using PlayCard and Mastercard debit may come with certain fees from your card provider/bank. The possible fees are not specified in Borgata’s general terms of use. If any fees apply, you will be notified at the time of making your deposit.

Why We Selected These PlayCard Betting Sites

It is more than just their compatibility with PlayCard that defines the above-mentioned betting sites. We go through a comprehensive checklist of ranking criteria to determine their legitimacy, security, fairness, and user-friendliness. Here’s what we examine:

How to Deposit with PlayCard at Online Betting Sites

You can’t gamble directly using PlayCard, so don’t worry if you don’t see it in the list of available payment methods. The platform is affiliated with Mastercard and you can use it on any licensed US site that accepts Mastercard debit. Here are the few steps to depositing with PlayCard.

  1. Open the PlayCard website and place a purchase for one of the available PayCards.
  2. Activate your card with a unique personal identification (PIN) number.
  3. Provide the required personal details to verify your identity.

Once you set up your PlayCard account and verify your details, you must complete a few more steps to make a deposit.

  1. Choose a sportsbook from our list and sign up.
  2. Verify your account and log in.
  3. Open the cashier/banking section and select Mastercard debit.
  4. Enter your deposit amount.
  5. Input the necessary card details to authorize a transaction.
  6. Wait for the sportsbook to approve the payment request.

Reminder: You must be 18 or older to activate and verify your PlayCard (21 to bet online). You might also need a photocopy of a government-issued ID, passport, or driver’s license to verify your personal details.

PlayCard Minimum and Maximum Deposit Limits

Pursuant to PlayCard’s terms of use, you must transfer at least $10.00 to your card balance if you purchased the card from a retail store. The minimum deposit can differ depending on the sportsbook.

As you notice above, some operators have a $5 minimum deposit limit, others $10, while some require a deposit of up to $20 or $50. Given this minimum deposit discrepancy among betting sites, check your chosen sportsbook’s base deposit limit, then load an amount consistent with that limit or higher.

It would be pointless to load $10 into your PlayCard if the minimum deposit of the sportsbook you’re registered with is $20 or higher. But even if you make this mistake, you can load funds to your PlayCard multiple times a day, provided that amount does not exceed $7,500 within 24 hours.

Note: Your sportsbook’s maximum limit can be higher or lower than PlayCard’s maximum deposit ceiling. If the sportsbook has a $10,000 daily limit and PlayCard $7,500, you will most likely have to comply with PlayCard’s limits.

How to Withdraw From PlayCard Betting Sites

PlayCard offers two-way money transfer services i.e. you can deposit and withdraw funds alike. First, ensure you have no outstanding bonuses and that all bonus wagering requirements are satisfied. Otherwise, you cannot withdraw your winnings. Next, you need to:

  1. Log into your sportsbook account and open the cashier.
  2. Tap the Withdrawal/Cash Out tab.
  3. Select Mastercard debit, if available.
  4. Enter a withdrawal amount.
  5. Fill out the information boxes with the required card data.
  6. Submit the cash-out request for review.
  7. Wait for the funds to reach your payment source.

Withdrawal Processing Times

Once the sportsbook processes and approves your withdrawal request, the money should reach your PlayCard Mastercard balance. The withdrawal processing and approval timeframe can differ depending on your sportsbook’s withdrawal policy.

If all information is accurate and matches your card and ID details, the request should take no more than 24 hours to process. Withdrawing at a point of sale (POS), an ATM, or directly through your bank (in person) is much faster but may charge certain fees.

In instances where additional security checks are needed (by the sportsbook, your bank, or card provider), the withdrawal can take up to 2-3 business days to be approved.

Editor’s note: Withdrawal limits are usually $10 or $20 for minimum cash-out. On the other hand, the maximum withdrawal per day or transaction can vary. ATM withdrawals are capped at $400 per transaction and $1,000 per day. Over-the-counter (OTC) withdrawals have a $5,000 cap per transaction. The same amount applies to PIN-based transfers.

Fees and Charges when Betting with PlayCard

Getting a PlayCard online is free and without any card purchase fees. However, getting a card from a retail location can lead to a card purchase fee of up to $4.95. Moreover, using your card regularly for depositing and withdrawing can and will lead to certain fees, depending on the type of transfer.

You can subscribe to a monthly plan with a fixed fee of $5 per month or without a plan and pay a $1.5 fee per purchase. There is also a small fee of $0.50 for a request to check your ATM balance. An over-the-counter (OTC) withdrawal from a financial institution can carry a fee of up to $9.95, but the charge can be lower, depending on the amount. ATM withdrawal fees of $2.50 per withdrawal also apply.

In addition to your card provider and bank, you should consider fees associated with your sportsbook. We were careful to select bookmakers with a transparent and fair banking rulebook. None of the cited sportsbooks charge in-house Mastercard debit deposit fees, and we couldn’t find any withdrawal fees in the fine print.

Important note: In addition to the aforementioned fees, PlayCard has an inactivity fee. If the card provider detects no activity on your card (purchases, payouts, reloads, or balance inquiries) within 90 consecutive days, it will start deducting $5.95 every consecutive month as an inactivity fee.

Tips for Managing Your Bankroll at PlayCard Betting Sites

Everyone has their own approach to betting. But there are those who bet smartly and those who believe they bet smartly. To avoid becoming the latter, you should work on your bankroll management. Here are a few tips from our experts, but don’t hesitate to expand your strategies.

Determine your Budget

Create a budget specifically for betting purposes. People bet to win, not to lose. But betting involves countless variables that can merely help you estimate the potential odds of an outcome but won’t guarantee that the most probable outcome will occur. The point is that you must accept the risk of losing, and you should invest only as much money as you can afford to lose.

Set a Unit Size

Ration your budget carefully. As a rule of thumb, you should not bet more than 1-2% of your total budget. If you have $500 for betting, your targeted amount should be $5-$10 per bet. It’s up to you whether you go over or under this value, but it’s paramount not to place high-risk bets on a whim.

Monitor Your ROI

Everyone bets on their own terms. You can bet as often as you like and as much as you like, but stay conscious about your progress or regress. Track your winnings and estimate your investment-to-return rate to see if you’ve gained or lost money. Do not, by any means, chase losses if you see you’re in the red. Succumbing to emotion or chasing a gambler’s fallacy (that an outcome will turn out because it didn’t in one or multiple earlier instances) is ill-advised.

Avoid Frequent Transfers

Using PlayCard means agreeing to the company’s policy on fees, of which there are quite a few. It’s a simple calculus that the fewer transfers you make, the fewer fees you will pay. We also advise you to use your card at least once every 90 days to avoid the inactivity fee.
